Sharon Gaffka dons colourful lingerie as she blasts Love Island for lack of LGBTQ representation

She came out as bisexual on Love Island during the show’s seventh series.

And Sharon Gaffka has now blasted the reality show for it’s lack of LGBTQ contestants, urging ITV2 to rethink their purely heterosexual couplings.

Taking snaps in different areas of her house, Sharon explained she was completing all the ‘male jobs’ of the house – posing with a lawnmower, lifting a car bonnet, fixing a car bonnet and doing the gardening.

In celebration of the upcoming London Pride, she showed off her toned physique in a range of orange, green, purple, yellow and red underwear sets from clothing brand Bluebella’s Pride Collection.

Taking to the caption, the reality star explained: ‘I’ve been quite vocal about how I think it’s about time that Love Island features LGBTQ contestants. As someone who came out on the show about my bisexuality, I’d welcome this wholeheartedly.

‘Love Island’s ITV producers stress that same-sex relationship present a “logistical difficulty”, but surely there could be a way around this if there were more bisexual contestants in the villa?

‘Production could always have extra people on standby to make sure there’s no shortage of couplings, so these difficulties are far from insurmountable.

‘When I left the villa I saw that my DMs were filled with messages from young people who were unsure of how to approach being with the same gender for the first time or how to just “know” your sexuality. So I know my openness has been beneficial to many!

Not disregarding her time on the show, Sharon ensured to mention the Love Island was a blessing – leading to both friendships and opportunities.

‘Love Island has blessed me with opportunities and friendships that I will be forever grateful for, but I think the show can only benefit from greater LGBTQ representation as this reflects their audience as a whole,’ she concluded.

For the snaps, her chocolate brown tresses were sleekly styled straight as they fell freely to her shoulders.

While Sharon sported a glam makeup look with a winged liner and pink lip, adding gold drop earrings.

Since leaving the villa, she has been extremely open about her time on there and her sexuality, previously explaining that many scenes were cut out from the show – including the one where she came out as bisexual.

She explained that despite it never reaching TV screens, she came out during a chat with fellow islander Faye Winter.

Sharon told Metro: ‘I had a conversation with Faye about it and she asked, “Are you bisexual?” and I said, “It’s something I’ve explored but I’ve never been in a relationship with a woman.”‘
