How I am getting the best results of my life

I love cardio, dancing, body combat and well running…. not my favourite thing, but I’ve been running for 4 years now so… I try to do it now and then.

It took me 3 years to get around the fact that cardio is not the best option to be fit and get the best results.

What works for me is a combination of strength training and cardio.

My routine starts on Saturday and ends on Friday (yes, I workout 6 days a week, and it’s now part of my habit, I love it!):

  • Saturday: Strength training or weight lifting or body pump (this is hard!)
  • Sunday: Cardio HIIT or running,
  • Monday: Strength training or weight lifting.
  • Tuesday: Strength training or weight lifting.
  • Wednesday: Cardio HIIT or something lighter such as dance, body combat, step….. Depends on how sore and lazy I feel.
  • Thursday: Yoga or stretchers.

I’ve been consistent with this schedule for the past 3 years, It works for me. I can say with confidence that strength training and weight lifting is what works best for me. I feel strong, and I enjoyed more than cardio now.

I follow a program but I like to mix my workouts; I try to have balance and work my lower body and my upper body every week. If I can, I prefer to work my full body in one session.

I think I mentioned but; I don’t go to the gym, instead; I pay for an online gym service, Beachbody on Demand and Les Mills on Demand.

I spent got basic equipment (weights, bands, mats and a bench) and I have space at home.

Beachbody is my thing, they have great programs, thanks to them I’ve discovered that there is nothing to be scared when you use weights.

Les Mills has great programs such as body combat and body pump.

The last thing I want to mention is… NUTRITION!

My life transformed when I started to pay attention to my diet.

I have a balanced diet of protein, fats and lots of vegetables, I survive of peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach…. (there are so many delicious options).

I like to bake cookies, pancakes, muffins and other goodies, but I bake them with sugar substitutes.

I can go on and on about this but I am not an expert, I am just a normal person who made some changes in her life and try to be healthy.

And it worked for me. It works, and I am delighted about my decisions.
