The change in ongoing weather is one the major reason which increases the risk of falling prey to cold or flu. But a strong immune system will help you to reduce the risk of falling ill. If you want to stay away from falling ill you have to get good rest, exercise daily, and above all eat the right food. Eat food which boosts your immune system which will help you to fight flu. So, here are some food items which will help you to fight flu.

Garlic

Garlic has amazing antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. It has a natural chemical ingredient called Allicin which helps you fight bacteria and viruses and reduces the risk of flu. A daily garlic supplement helps to reduce the longevity of common cold symptoms. Eating raw garlic may also be beneficial.

Ginger

Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties which are great to keep you away from the risk of flu. Ginger also contains a fiber which is called fructans which helps you to digest the food easily and boosts your immune system. You can also eat raw garlic to fight flu. Sipping a cup of ginger tea regularly will also keep you healthy.

Mushrooms

Mushrooms are a great source to boost your immune system. Mushrooms are high in selenium, riboflavin, and other essential Vitamins which helps you to improve your ability to stay from flu. Mushrooms are rich in beta-glucan which has the ability to activate the immune system and prevent infection. It regulates the white blood cells.

Citrus

Oranges, lemon, and grapefruits these all are the citrus fruits. These fruits are the rich sources of Vitamin C and their antioxidants properties help to reduce the risk of flu. Citrus fruits also contain flavonoids which help to boost the immune system and are great for speeding recovery.
